Korean actress and singer Lim Yoon-a, widely admired for her versatility, has opened up about her role in the blockbuster drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.

In a recent interview, she shared insights into her six months of cooking preparation, her experience filming the fantasy romance series, and her satisfaction with its emotional finale.

Six Months of Cooking Training

Before filming began, Yoon-a dedicated herself to a six-month culinary journey. She began with image training, moved into recipe study, and finally attended cooking classes under professional chefs.

Her training included knife techniques, Korean traditional dishes, and even fine Western cuisine. Yoon-a revealed that she practiced beef bourguignon, sous vide steak, macarons, and Korean chicken soup, ensuring every cooking scene on screen felt authentic and natural.

She mentioned that she wanted to perform all her kitchen scenes without relying on a double. This dedication paid off, as fans noticed the realism in her movements and praised her passion for perfection.

Ratings and Global Popularity

The drama ended with nationwide TV ratings of 17.1%, making it one of the highest-rated miniseries of 2025. On top of that, it ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s global non-English chart for two consecutive weeks, cementing its success internationally.

For Yoon-a, this project marked her first TV comeback in seven years. She said she was touched by the audience’s recognition and thankful for the love the series received worldwide.

Although she has not yet confirmed her next project, she remains committed to roles that allow her to challenge herself and connect with viewers.
