The story revolves around a North-meets-South love story, with Sidharth Malhotra playing a Punjabi man and Janhvi Kapoor as a half-Tamilian, half-Malayali character. The netizens suggest that there is a tint of Chennai express in the movie.
The film’s depiction of cultural clashes and harmony set against backdrops from Delhi to Kerala. The film follows the cross-cultural love story between Param Sachdev , a North Indian Punjabi man from Delhi, and Thekkepattu Sundari Damodaram Pilla.
Sundari’s mixed culture (Tamilian and Malayali) adds depth to her character, and the story delves into how traditional values takes great part in relationships. In the beginning the duo is shown having misunderstanding and clashes but later they fall in love.
